Vandenberg Air Force Base, California
Lompoc, california
Vandenberg Air Force Base (VAFB) is situated around Lompoc, California. The installation is northwest of Los Angeles, and is presently operated by Air Force Space Command’s 30th Space Wing. It is also the only site from which intercontinental ballistic missiles are test fired into the Pacific Ocean, and splash down at the Kwajalein Atoll within the Marshall Islands.
Project 1:
ISS performed two projects at VAFB. In the first project, VAFB needed to upgrade its existing security system as well as integrate new components for both launch faciilities, perimeter, commisary and childcare facilities.
ISS upgraded the existing system on 8 sites, previously installed by ISS; then designed, engineered and installed an integrated security system for both physical and electronic security in additional facilities including the commissary, childcare facilities, and additional launch sites.
